The First United Methodist Church of Warren / Bristol exists for the worship of the risen Lord and the furtherance of His kingdom. Our mission is to reach out to our neighbors and make disciples for our Lord Jesus Christ, nurture their Christian faith, understanding, knowledge, discipline, service, and to prepare them for their God-directed ministries.
We seek to feed His sheep. Sometimes that means teaching the Word. Sunday school classes and small-group bible studies offer lively discussions that challenge participants to grow in knowledge and faith and encourage them to listen for that still small voice and serve as the Spirit inspires.
Sometimes His sheep need meat and potatoes. Partnering with two other local churches, we help to extend the weekday Meals-on-Wheels program by preparing and delivering meals on the weekends. Need is often felt most severely during holidays. During the Easter and Thanksgiving holidays, we prepare and distribute baskets of food to ease the need and share our joy in these cherished seasons. If in these momentary gifts, someone feels the compassion of the One who gave His life for all . . . Praise the Lord!
